I stood up. "And it looks like it will continue to stay that way. I don't want any contact from you." I started to walk away.

Dad grabbed Demetria by her wrist. "You aren't going anywhere. I have a little surprise for you."

"Let go. I'm not going anywhere with you. Any surprise you have is never good."

"You don't have a choice." Dad tightened his grip on Demetria.

"Dad, stop it." I said.

"You don't want to make a scene here. If you do then someone will call the cops."

"Do you really think the cops will care about a filthy mutant like you?" Dad asked.

"Dad, please just let her go."

"No. I have something special planned for her."

"You haven't seen her in years? Why now have you suddenly showed up?"

"That's my secret." He grinned evilly.

I didn't know what dad had planned and I didn't want to find out. I tried to free my arm from dad's grip, but he had a strong grip.

"You can't escape." Dad said.

"Dad, what do you plan to do? You can't cause trouble or you will be thrown in jail."

"Who cares if he is thrown in jail. I certainly don't."

"Be a good girl and I won't hurt your friends." Dad said.

I laugh. "You can't do any thing to my friends. They are mutants and you're not. What can you possible do to them?"

"I have many friends that would love to experiment on mutants. They have the weapons to capture your friends."

"Dad, please don't."

"Stay out of this, Cheyenne."

I had to think quick on how to get out of this. I did the first and only thing that came to mind. I punched my dad in the face and then took off running.

I run inside, hoping that girl's father is still here. What was her name? Started with a D. D...De... Dem. Obviously short for something.

"Cheyenne, you must understand why I'm doing this." Dad said.

"Well, I don't. This is wrong and I'm not going to sit by any more." I said.
