I grin at the thought of them, then my face falls. We've been here for a few days now. Our kids have been dead for a while. I fall onto my back, tears streaming down my face.

I went to a nearby lake and sat by a tree to read. It felt nice to be outside on such a nice day. I didn't know where everyone else was so it was just me which I didn't mind.

I was bored and didn't know what to do so I decided to go to the lake; no one was around. I took off my shoes and stepped in the water. It was cold, but it felt good.
