Camille burst through Erik's main room. "I know you know that I am back. I just came to...show you for myself," she said thoughtfully.

Erik watched her for a moment and finally smiled slightly. "Good to have you back, my dear," he said slowly.

Camille nodded. "I'm not sure what happened before the lake, but it is all in the past. I'm here and don't intend on going back to that way ever again."

Erik hesitated. "Nothing of importance happened while you were...gone," he lied flatly. "It has been dull around here."

Camille thought for a moment. "Though that Kale fellow has changed significantly. He thinks nothing of killing humans. But that is the only thing that has seemed different," she said carelessly.

Erik seated himself casually. "It seems that the fellow has changed. That might be both of our faults."

Camille frowned. "My fault? I don't believe so. I did nothing to him."

Erik pursed his lips. "You did nothing but attract the man to you. I had to make him leave you in order for you to become what I had always hoped you would become," he said simply.

Camille narrowed her eyes. "Let me see for myself," she said walking over to him. She placed her hands on his temples. She saw hundreds of images, including those of Erik threatening her when talking to Kale. She blinked and moved her hands away from his head. Camille stepped back from him, remembering everything. "It was your fault," she whispered.

Erik got to his feet. "You weren't suppose to see it. Surely you know I did it with you in mind. It made you stronger. Don't you see that?" he said harshly.

Camille shook her head slowly. "I know full well what you had in mind, Erik. But I still hate it with every fiber in my being. You are like a father to me. Why couldn't you just accept it?"

Erik hesitated. "Because it isn't right. I worked so hard on your training that I was afraid it would go down the drain. I couldn't let that happen," he said urgently.

Camille swallowed. "It didn't go down the drain, Erik. Not at all," she said before disappearing through the door.

Erik slammed his fist on the table in frustration. "Damn it," he muttered to himself.
