(Charmicheal's POV)

I sigh. Like I really have a choice. I stand, and walk over to her, shaking my head in disbelief.

turning she takes off towards the city again with Charmicheal following behind her.

We land. "OK, now will you explain?"

Rebbecca sat on the ground her wings spread out behind her and motions for him to sit in front of her, she sighs.

"Angel use to say we had some thing special, him and I, and he was right we had a connection, a telepathic connection, It started when I turned nine, I could hear what he was thinking and he could do the same with me" she paused and closed her eyes as a gentle breeze blew around her as if saying to her to carry on.

"He called it our secret link, when Angel died a barrier was formed , you see when he died a part of me died too, but when you connected to me to put up the barriers to stop Alex that barrier began to brake, and when you did it again before, it broke completely and we connected, did you ever wonder why that time in the war room you said to Angel that you could use a drink and a few minuets later i walked in with a cold beer, that was not a coincidence, as you said, He'd say to me that one day the link would shift to someone else" she smiled " I never believed him , i thought it would be just me and him, always, but then I met you and i felt something, a pull, like the pull on a magnet, i was drawn to you it's one of the reasons i never left when Angel died." she stopped and held out her hands her palms up" place your hands over mine" she said looking at him.

I put my palms against hers.

Rebbecca smiled to him "you feel that pull" she said as gently she moved her hand a few inches away.

"Yeah!" I close the gap, and the pull goes away.

Again she smiles " it's the connection, Angel called it " she grinned " our attraction, i suppose its now ours." she said " no matter where you are i will always know how to find you, and you me"

"I can't say that's a bad thing."

Rebbecca felt the breeze again she felt it ruffle her feathers.

" Angel knew before i did" she said " about why i joined him" she smiled.

I grin. "He always was a smart guy. Smart ass, too."

Rebbecca grinned as she closed her fingers around his hand.

" he always did want the best for me" she said " you do know he didn't want me to join"

I nod. "He raised a few concerns. And a little hell. In the end, I told him, 'Freedom is the right of all sentient beings. If she wants to fight for hers, I won't stop her.'"

Rebbecca sighed .

" he told me that night" she said " but he added that he'd keep me close , and he did till that day"

"That wasn't just the day we lost him, either. That was the worst battle in the history of the rebellion. We lost more men and women on that day than in any other battle."
